The Long Night's Harbinger

During winter, the closer you get to the Arctic Circle, the less daylight you get to see. At this particular location, daylight lasts four hours. The nice thing about winter, though, is that it also brings some pretty dramatic clouds with it that adorn the mountains like godly golden garments at sunset. Throw in a few sun beams as the last light strikes the snow-covered ground and you've got a simply heavenly scene full of colors vying with each other in ethereal chorus. Within moments, the colors evaporate, darkness falls, and the long night settles in.
