Blue Hour Sunrise Over the East Alaska Range
Blue hour is called the magical hour for a reason, although it rarely lasts a whole hour. For a few moments, the sky turns a deep blue, and as the sun rises the purples appear up high. The purples creep lower and lower until they hit the horizon. As they reach the tops of the mountains in the East Alaska Range, the snowy peaks catch the light and reflect magenta tones. On very cold mornings with clear skies, the vibrant hues virtually explode over the landscape. Cold. Vibrant. Colorful. There's no experience quite like a frozen Alaska sunrise.
